"We're called to love God, love one another and love the lost into His kingdom."
Here is how we go about it:
Purpose-Experiencing and Expressing God's Love
The purpose of South Hills Community Church is that people would be in a Loving relationship with God, Growing in Christ-likeness, Connecting to the church community, Serving Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and Sharing Jesus in the world.
Loving
Matthew 22:37; Romans 12:1; John 4:23-24
We see worship as a life-style that causes us to celebrate our relationship with God,
continually magnifying Him and drawing deeper in our relationship with Him.
Is my heart on fire for God?
Growing
Matthew 28:20, Colossians 1:28; 2:6-7
We’re called by Jesus to follow Him as His disciples into a deeper,
more obedient walk that can
be seen in maturity.
Are my feet grounded and growing in God?
Connecting
Acts 2:46; Romans 12:10; John 13:34-35
The Biblical model is to grow deeper with each other through fellowship –
understanding that we grow
in community as members of the body of Christ.
Am I reaching out to relate to others?
Serving
Matthew 22:39; Galatians 5:13-14; Ephesians 4:11-16
Our service involves faithful stewardship, understanding our spiritual gifting
and employing those
gifts in ministry to others, leaving a godly legacy and
thus helping our church to grow stronger.
Am I available to serve God and others?
Sharing
Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:14
We’re called to share the gospel locally and cross-culturally,
in word and in action, with true
compassion for the unsaved.
Are my eyes open to see a world in need?
We continually seek to have a Great Commitment to the
Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40)
and we know that
obedience to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20)
will produce a Great
Christian and grow a Great Church!
